Friday LinkFrogging – 8/7/20

So, my great and wonderful plan to relaunch our venerable Friday feature, LinkFrogging, fell victim to the cruel whims of fate last week. Then, well, nature decided it had other ideas.

I was finding fun info, contacting the team and looking for the requisite supplemental materials. That’s when it happened.

KIDNEY STONES!

A part of large ones had invaded my body and knocked me to my knees and beyond. So, while I wallowed in pain, LinkFrogging fell by the wayside.

That’s until today.

We are back and we’ve brought the goods, both verbal and visual.

All week, as I’ve been recovering, I’ve referred to the process as “romancing the stones.”

Yeah, it’s a reference to an 80s movie.

It’s also an opportunity for me to go retro with this week’s cheesecake selection in honor of my stones.

Please say hello to Kathleen Turner.

Ms. Turner first rose to prominence in the 1980s in films such as Body Heat, War of the Roses and, of course, Romancing the Stone.

Of course, no discussion of Ms. Turner’s filmography would be complete with a mention of her hilarious turn as Chandler Bing’s drag queen father of Friends.

Rumor has it Matthew Perry still calls her dad.

Her long legs and husky voice were instrumental in many Gen X awakenings.

Or so I’ve heard.

Let’s hit the links.
